LORAMENDI was established in 1973 in the rapidly expanding industrial area of Vitoria (Basque Country, Spain) to design and manufacture foundry equipment, mainly core blowers and machines for the SHELL process. A new range of core-making equipment for the COLD-BOX process soon followed. This process generated demand for high-speed production equipment.
In response to the accuracy in core package production requested by foundries, LORAMENDI developed its core interlocking system, KEY CORE ®, which has been patented in most industrialised countries. This system allows the assembly and interlocking of individual cores to solid core packages automatically without using glues or screws.

The demand for LORAMENDI equipment steadily increased. In September 1993 LORAMENDI took possession of its newly built plant, at the same time retaining existing facilities.

The new facility provided LORAMENDI with double the engineering and production facilities and helped to meet the new demand. The company now has the capacity to undertake a variety of projects, from the manufacture of single machines to the design and manufacture of completely automated core producing and assembly systems.

In 1994 LORAMENDI, began the manufacture of horizontal moulding machines and moulding installations with its patented AIR SHOCK AND PRESS ® system to extend the manufacturing program.
The last product launched by the company is the Flaskless Vertical Moulding Machine, Loramatic. After its successful introduction at GIFA 99, the significantly improved machine has caused a great impact in the foundry industry due to the several new features incorporated.
