KPSNC case study: a challenge shifting from cold box to inorganic process

KPSNC is China’s largest manufacturer of alumium cylinder heads.

Wanting to change their current casting from a cold box process to an inorganic process, they contacted the Loramendi and Aurrenak team to achieve this objective.

It was an ambitious, demanding challenge due to the difficulty of changing over the process in such a short period, however, KPSNC, Loramendi and Aurrenak team, accomplished their established goals.

Loramendi provided 12 new machines with sand plants and all the full automation, along with coreboxes designed and manufactured by Aurrenak.

Due to the characteristics and dimensions, shipment via rail was also a big challenge for Loramendi, as this type of transportation connecting Europe and China directly is relatively new.
