On Sunday 4th March, Loramendi had an open day to celebrate its 45th anniversary.

Since 1973, Loramendi has developed its activity within the industrial sector of Alava (Spain). It began its activity as a public limited company and in 2005 it became a cooperative, currently parts of the Mondragon Group. Since its foundation, Loramendi has been a pioneer in the internationalisation process, opening offices in Germany and China more than three decades ago. Today its commercial network and main customers are spread all over Europe, Asia and America. Its headquarters is located in Vitoria-Gasteiz and it exports 95% of what it manufactures.

A world leader in its sector, Loramendi’s customers include the majority of OEMs (BMW, Daimler, VW, GM, Toyota, Renault-Nissan,…) from the automotive sector as well as the main TIER1. This business project employs 160 workers locally and 65 others abroad, but has an indirect impact that benefits more than 500 families in Vitoria.

The event started at 10 a.m. with a brief tour of the facilities and a visit to the assembly area where several manufacturing cells could be observed. These automation projects for the foundry undoubtedly showed the state of the art in the sector.
